What sets us apart is our commitment to excellence. Every appointment is led by highly trained, certified sonographers who combine medical precision with genuine warmth. All scans will be performed by a Sonographer with a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound or a Midwife Sonographer, all of whom are currently practice within the NHS. We take the time to answer your questions, explain every step of the process, and ensure you leave feeling informed, reassured, and deeply connected to your little one.
Our private, luxurious scan suites are thoughtfully designed to accommodate partners, family, and friends, making each visit a shared celebration of life. With optional keepsakes such as printed images, digital video recordings, and gender reveal canons, your experience with us becomes a cherished milestone.

We have 3 car parking spaces available at the clinic directly outside of the practice entrance and there is additional parking within close walking distance.

Scan Packages
Early Pregnancy Reassurance & Viability Scan
(From 6 weeks gestation – 14 weeks)

Developed to provide reassurance and viability as early as 6 weeks. A moment of clarity, comfort, and calm — bespoke early pregnancy care.
At First Glance Ultrasound, we understand that the early weeks of pregnancy can bring both excitement and uncertainty. Our early viability/reassurance scan offers you peace of mind in a serene, private setting where your comfort and emotional wellbeing come first.
This specialist ultrasound, performed between 6 and 14 weeks of pregnancy, is designed to confirm the presence of a developing fetus, detect a heartbeat, and assess the health and positioning of your pregnancy. Using the latest high-resolution ultrasound technology, our expert sonographers provide gentle, precise imaging to ensure you receive clear, reassuring information about your baby’s progress.
You will be welcomed into our clinic, where every detail has been considered to make your experience as calm and personal as possible. Following your scan, the sonographer will take the time to explain your results in full and answer any questions you may have, ensuring you leave feeling informed, reassured, and supported.

30 minute appointment time (including 15 minutes of scanning time)
Confirmation of an early pregnancy and intrauterine location.
To confirm single or multiple pregnancies
Dating of pregnancy
Measurement of fetal pole to determine estimated dates
Visualisation of fetal heart beat
Early health assessment – to rule out any potential issues including ectopic or molar pregnancies.
Digital images and videos will be available to download direct to your phone or tablet.
If required we have a direct referral system in place with the early pregnancy assessment unit at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Please Note:
You must be 6 weeks. If you are unsure of your dates please get in touch by email or telephone. Please be aware that both transabdominal and transvaginal scans may be required to ensure visualisation at early gestation.
If a rescan is required at least one week is required between scans.

Gender & Wellbeing Scan
(From 16-32 weeks)

At First Glance Ultrasound, we believe every scan should be a moment to treasure. Our Gender & Wellbeing Ultrasound is designed to combine reassurance with relaxation — giving you the chance to connect with your baby in a warm, welcoming, and truly special setting.
In the comfort of our private studio, our friendly and experienced sonographers will gently check your baby’s heartbeat, movement, and general wellbeing. If you’d like to know, we can also reveal your baby’s gender in a calm and joyful moment you’ll never forget or we write this down for you to take away for a gender reveal at a later date.
You’re welcome to share this experience with loved ones, surrounded by soft lighting, comfortable seating, and a caring atmosphere. We’ll capture beautiful, high-definition images and video clips for you to take home — a precious keepsake of your baby’s early days.

Please bring your hospital notes to the appointment as we will need to review these prior to the scan
If we are unable to identify gender you will be offered a rescan free of charge.
Please be aware that fetal sexing is never 100% accurate.

Growth Presentation Scan
From 24- 40 weeks
£100
Our Growth Presentation & Baby Bonding Scans are designed to give you a closer connection to your baby while providing reassurance about their health and development.
During the scan, we will check key developmental measurements such as your baby’s growth and estimated fetal weight by measuring the head, abdominal circumference and femur length. The presentation of the baby is documented as well as an assessment of the placenta using umbilical Doppler and take a measurement of the amniotic fluid.

This scan is designed to give you quality time to connect with your baby in a calm and welcoming environment, whilst providing measurements to provide an estimated fetal weight and to check placenta function and amniotic fluid perfect for creating beautiful memories during your pregnancy.

At our clinic, we offer advanced 4D ultrasound imaging as an exciting and memorable way to see your baby move in real time. Unlike traditional 2D ultrasounds that produce flat, black-and-white images, 4D ultrasound creates live video-like images, showing your baby’s movements—such as yawning, stretching, or even smiling—with remarkable clarity and detail.
This technology uses the same safe sound wave principles as standard ultrasound but processes the data in three dimensions and adds the element of time (the 4th dimension) to create real-time motion.
While 4D ultrasound is not typically used for diagnostic purposes, it can provide enhanced visualization in certain cases and offers a special bonding experience for expecting parents. It’s a beautiful way to connect with your baby before birth.

For optimal images, we recommend scheduling your 4D ultrasound between 24 and 32 weeks of pregnancy, when your baby has developed more facial features and there’s still enough amniotic fluid for clear imaging.
Please Note: 4D ultrasound is optional and does not replace routine diagnostic scans.
